Cymru Older Peoples Alliance (COPA) are delighted to announce today [29 September 2026] that following a rigorous recruitment programme, Ann Lloyd CBE has been appointed as our new Chair. Ann has had a long and successful career in the NHS and is formerly Director General for Health and Social Care/ CEO NHS Wales in Welsh Government. Ann has also had 8 years as Chair of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and has undertaken a number of senior charity roles.
Ann said “I am very pleased and honoured to have been appointed as the chair of COPA; I look forward to working with our networks and fellow charities throughout Wales to ensure that the voices of older people are heard and make an impact for the better on their lives and wellbeing.”
Interim Chair Yvonne Apsitis who is now standing down but continues as a Trustee said “We very much welcome Ann as our new Chair. She will be bringing fresh energy and vision at such a critical time for we the older population’”
Our new Chair will be meeting and introducing herself at the National Older Peoples Conference on 7 October and to Older Peoples Forums and partner organisations as part of normal business.
